Been a while

Life has had a lot of unexpected turns and twits in the past couple of years. My husband lost his job and I had to go back to work. He finally got a new job but that job left us struggleing just to survive. He started a new job this week and he seems to enjoy it. I have gone back to school full time to get an Associates Degree. When I graduate in December I will have a degree in Billing & Coding. Right now the homework takes up what little free time I have.

My daugther has started a new program in Kentucky where she attends a local college and receives both college and high school credits. When she graduates this year she will have a high school diploma and a year and a half of college under her belt.

My son transfered last year from Reidland High School to Marshall County High School. The drive is a killer every day (20 mins as oppesed to 20 seconds.) but it has been the best move for him. His grades and his attitude have improved 100%!

With all that has been going on in our lives, I have had time for little to no stitching. However, I have figured out that my stress level is so high right now that I may soon blow a gasket. So tonight for at least an hour before bedtime I have decided to pull out some stitching and see if that will help me to lower the stress. It always has helped in the past. I get lost in my stitching and hope that I can again now.

I will post a pic tomorrow of whatever I decide to start with tonight and hope that this will once again become a daily part of my life.

Life has thrown us some curve balls

over the past few months. My husband lost his job, I have had to go back to work, and I just can't seem to find my stitching mojo. I seemed to have lost it in August and I just can't seem to get back into stitching. I am having problems adjusting to working and keeping the house up again so maybe once that is settled things will be better.

Yesterday I went to get my fall things out to decorate my den with. All of my cross stitch pieces and 90% of my fall decorations were ruined. That was the straw that broke the camels back. I have no time to restitch before the season and no money to buy. Oh well, maybe by next year I will have some of my stuff replinished.

Guess I better get ready for work. Remember even when you have in the valley (like we are), God is still right beside you holding your hand. Have a blessed day.

Bathroom/Kitchen remodel

Not a lot of stitching going on but we have been working on the remodel of the house. Here is a slideshow of some of the work we have been doing. DH will start next week with building the vaniety for the bathroom. We will probably put the radient heat down this week and then start with the tiling of the floor. I can't wait.

Oh and by the way I LOVE my new kitchen sink.

Finally some stitching

I was able to work a little last night on The Name of God. Of course if I was to post a pic today you wouldn't be able to tell what little I had done so I will wait a day or two. I am hoping to get more stitching time in this evening. Our VBS is this week during the evenings. My kiddos are to old for VBS and we took the summer off since we work AWANAS during the school year. Anyway because of VBS there will be no prayer meeting tonight. What better way to spend my prayer time at home than stitching on The Name of God.

Well today is shaping up to be another hot and humid day with chances of more severe storms. Yea for us. DS has a friend over and they are locked in the bedroom watching movies, playing video games or just goofing around in general. DD and I need to clean her bedroom. It looks like a tornado went through it. Right now she is pouting on the front porch because she is grounded and thinks we should unground her and let her do whatever she wants. Ahhhhhhhh............the joy of raising teens.

Stormy Tuesday

Well I haven't stitched in over two weeks. But I do have all my DMC thread all wrapped on bobbins and put in my jammer boxes. This is a huge accomplishment for me. I hope to sit down this afternoon and evening and get some stitching in.

Things have been very busy with the kids being out of town last weekend for four days. I babysit the youth pastors 22 month old son during that time also. Very active little fellow.

Well my house is now quiet. DD gone on date and DS & DH not back from being out of town yet. Off to eat lunch then do a little stitching. Yea me.

School is finally out for the summer. I have spent the first few days getting kids ready for summer camp. Now that is all done, it is time for the summer clean. You know what I mean, clean out the kids rooms from all the junk they have brought home from school to never be seen. The clothes that never quit make it to the dirty clothes, the drawers, the closet etc. I am trying to get them to work hard this first week to get this done so they will have the rest of the summer to do whatever. So far, it is not working. Guess I will have to threaten to take away the PS2, radio, cell phones etc. the get the work done. Hopefully, I will get some stitching in her soon. By the time I sit down at night, my mind is so numb that I can just see the mistakes that I would make. I have been reading until bed time and have finished several books. Last night I started on 8th Confession by James Patterson. I should have that puppy done tonight.

Gotta go check on the lunch. DH just walked in the door.

Need some time off

Ok so I don't work outside the home anymore and you would think I would have time for myself and my family right???? WRONG. I am doing more crap now than before. I can't remember the last time I stitched. Last week????????? Hopefully now that school is out I can spend more time with the kiddos and doing what we want instead what every one else wants me to do.

Yesterday was the last day of school. YEAH!!!! Will "graduated" from 8th grade. Here is the graduate.

In the fall I will have 2 kids in high school. Wasn't it just yesterday they started kindergarten?

I hope to work on it some this coming week. I just got home from a 3 1/2 hour meeting and tomorrow between church we have a funeral and a wedding shower to go to.

little bit of stitching last night but not enough to take a pic for an update. I spent about two hours yesterday working on the DMC thread again. Hopefully I will have that done by tonight or tomorrow.

Tomorrow my son "graduates" from 8th grade. Both of my babies will be in high school come fall. Will a freshman, Aimee a sophmore. Where has the time gone?

Well I need to get some cleaning done around the house. I did NOTHING yesterday. Bad Deb.

last night but I did start putting all my thread on bobbins. I have been cleaning the den really good and put all the vhs, cds, and dvds in abc order. All my thread was sitting in front of the shelves in hobby lobby bags, micheals bags and I decided it was time to wrap them on bobbins and get them into the jammer cases. So this is what I did most of last night. I hope to get some more of them done today and get all the thread put together and then put up out of my den floor.

I was actually able to get in a lot of stitching over the weekend. I finished up page two on my sampler and started page three. Here is the updated pic of it.

I really enjoying working on this one. Hopefully it won't take me to long before I finish this page and can move on to page 4.

I finished up the book I was reading over the weekend and started this one.

I am over half done with it and should be able to start its sequal tomorrow at the latest.

Also wanted to post a picture that is long over due. Our shower stall in the bathroom was leaking and Will decided to gut it and redo. We went with ceramic tile. I "designed" the pattern and he went to work. Here is a pic of the finished project.

Not bad for a first timer. I love this shower. It looks so much better than that old junk that was in there. More pics of the remodel will be posted later.

Well I didn't get any stitching in yesterday. I was so tired yesterday I couldn't keep my eyes opened, yet I was unable to sleep. Weird huh. I did do a little bit of reading. I am reading Beverly Lewis Summerhill 2. Several short stories. They are pretty good. Don't know if I will get much stithing in this weekend. I am going to try to though.

last night. I was able to finish Morning ST and start on the word bread. I started on the d and was off one row. I was so tired my eyes were crossing. So I frogged out the d and went to bed. Plan to take a nap here in a little then get back to stitching on this.

I did finish the book The Confession. I started a new one and will get that pic and info. up tomorrow. Tonight we have a Concert Band performance for my daughter. Just one more week and school will be out. YES!!!!!!!!!!!

A finish and pulled out an old WIP

I finally finished Bent Creek Seize the Day last night. Here is a pic of it and Rise and Shine also by Bent Creek. These will both hang in my kitchen above the cabinets.

I will get another pic when they are hanging. Once I finished this and got it in the frame, I pulled out my WIP Name of God by My Big Toe Designs. I had finished the first page and am half done with the second page. Here is a current pic of that one.

I am going to focus on only this one for a little bit. Something new will call my name soon and I will have to set this one aside for a while. Hopefully I will get some stitching time in this afternoon and evening.

I am almost finished reading The Confession by Beverly Lewis. I only have about 20 more books in my to be read pile so I will see what is next up later tonight.

I am trying my hand at making homemade Honey Oat Bread. I will let you know how it turns out.

I did get to stitch a little on Seize the Day last night. Hopefully I will have that baby finished this evening. Today I must get the laundry caught up and do a little work around the house. I have started following the Flylady routine again and I really seem to be making progress around the house. Even with all the remodeling that is going on. I need to get updated pics on the remodel up too.

I have been a garage most of the day today. Had to take the van to Leon Riley Ford in Benton to get the air fixed early this morning. After leaving there I had to take it to Shelby's Wheel and Tire in Paducah for 4 new tires. If I never see the inside of a garage again it will be to soon. LOL!

I did finish a book I was reading and started on The Confession by Beveryly Lewis. I am really enjoying all her books. Hopefully after dinner tonight and a Wal-Mart run for my son, I will get to stitch some. I am so close to being done with Seize the Day by Bent Creek I can taste it.

I have done no house work today so will have twice as much to do tomorrow. Wednesday I am going with my mother to put flowers on my grandparents and great-grandparents graves. Not a fun thing to do but I do get to spend the day with mom.

Boy am I behind.

Of course first I was working full time and didn't have time to sleep let alone update the blog. Then the ice storm in Jan. hit and we were without power for two months. Then I lost my job. Now I am home full time and hope to get caught up real soon. I might even double post today. LOL! Hopefully I will update some books I am reading, some stitching I have done and other things later in the day.

Good Morning

Boy it is very cold here this morning. Last night about 5:30 it started raining and rained all night long. This morning when I went out to start the van before taking the kiddos to school the van door was froze shut from the rain and the falling temps. Some of the puddles were solid ice. Guess it was a good thing the rain stopped before the temps dropped or we would have had a mess.

I got my nativity set out yesterday. This was made in ceramics by my MIL years ago. I have taken pics of the "sets" and a pic of the whole lot.

Also while I was home from work yesterday I stitched some on my afghan. I have just about completed the blue bird. I should be able to finish that up and start on the rest of the branch tonight after work. At this point I may just reach my goal early.

Well, I have potato soup cooking I need to check on and then I think I will read until time for work. Have a blessed day!

Off work today

Since I am off work today, I should be able to get my Nativity set up and some stitching done on my afghan. I will take some pics tonight so I can get them posted tomorrow.

Since I cleaned the house last week from top to bottom and I have been doing laundry every morning before work I don't have anything much to do today. I love having a day off and it being free. We are giving our parents scrapbooks of the kids for Christmas. I hope I can get some work in on those today also. I still have to print a bunch of the band pics out to put in the albums and the kiddos will be having their pics made together Friday night.

Okay first we will start with some pics of the house decorated for Christmas.

Thanksgiving weekend. Ours started on Wednesday when my son and I spent the entire day chopping, dicing, baking etc getting things ready for Thursday. He baked a chocolate cake by himself and it was WONDERFUL!!!! The boy will be a chef one day. Thursday we cooked the turkey and had my mom, one brother, and his mom all for dinner. It was a great time. Another brother and his two kids stopped by later in the day and visited with us for a little while. Aimee and I was up at 3 on black Friday. We had breakfast at IHOP then hit the shopping. We literaly shopped till we dropped but had a great time. Saturday was decorate the tree day. Ours is up and Will's is up in his room. Aimee's should go up tonight. I still have to put out the Nativity and all the snowmen. Once that is done I will take some pics and post them.

I have put all of my stitching away except for my Snowbuddies Afghan. I will concentrate on this one over the holiday season. I will try to take pics tonight and post my progress beginning tomorrow. We should be getting some snow flakes around here today which would be great by me. Gotta do a few things around the house then I will head off to work. Noon to six for me most of the week.

Ezra time!!!!

We got to spend the weekend with Ezra again. He brings such joy and happiness into our lives when he is here. It was a wet and nasty weekend but who knew with Ezra here. He kept trying to tell me Saturday that he was 5 yrs old and had been for 2 days. He just turned 3 in September. I am going to post some pics here of us. The rest can be seen at the following link.

After posting the wedding pics the other day of course I spent time pouring over the album. This pic has to be our favorite.

The ring bearers are my nephews. One of them is discusted with the fact that my DH an I are kissing, the other one is trying to figure out just what we are doing and nearly falling off the steps in the process.

band is over for the season. I am so looking forward to a couple of weekends to myself. No running all over the state to watch competitions. I wish they would have made state but they didn't this year but there is always next.

I haven't been stitching much so no updates to post. I have been reading. I couldn't tell you the number of books I have read this month. I have also been sick with a stomach bug and then strep throat. Now I am on the mend and ready to get back into the swing of things.

Between work, the kids band, Church and every day life I haven't been here in nearly a month. I haven't had much time to stitch either. I have started a couple of new projects that I will try to get pics of here soon. I am working on a MH Autumn Wreath and a Tinkerbell bookmark.

The kiddos are on fall break this week and I am working every day. I am longing for Nov. when I get a week off myself.

What a mess!

We didn't get any rain here from IKE but we sure got the winds. Trees, power lines etc down every where. My yard looks terrible. We will be spending days just picking up limbs, branches, twigs, etc from the winds yesterday. We were lucky and never lost power for any length of time nor did we have damage from the storm. We did lose a tree but it hit nothing. I will try to get out later and take some pics of the yard.

Still no stitching

being done here. MIL took us out to dinner last night after work and band practice. By the time we got home I was ready to just do nothing. Probably won't get any stitching in until Sunday during football.

Tonight we work concessions during the home game and then we leave so early tomorrow and will be gone all day, I am sure nothing will get done. I may try to take something small for tomorrow depending on if we drive or ride the bus.

Guess I had better get myself in gear and get ready for work. Go Greyhounds!

Quiet night tonight

right before the storm of the weekend hits. Maybe I can get some stitching in. Everyone seems to be well around here finally. We should be able to kick back tonight and do nothing once we get home from work and after school band. I am really looking forward to that. Tomorrow night is our first home football game, then Saturday is the double header band competition.

I have started a new project. It is a punchneedle kit of a snowman (what else). I will hopefully get some more work done on it tonight and try to post a pic in the morning.

On the Mend

I think we are all finally on the mend around here. I went back to work yesterday after being home sick since Friday and Will went back to school today. Now if the other two just don't come down with it.

Got the times for our next band competition. We will leave Saturday morning at 6:30 and pull back in Sunday morning about 2:30. We have 2 competitions in the same day. The awards for the last show begins at 10 and they will last at least an hour with the number of bands. Then we will stop for a fast food break on the way home and then we have an hour and half drive.

Finally a finish!!!

I finally finished SMO Frosty Snowman. I love, love, love how he turned out. Not feeling well still yesterday made it hard to concentrate on the snowflakes so I didn't finish him until about ten last night. But he is done. Here is is!

Please excuse the wrinkles etc. I haven't pressed him yet. I will probably make him into some type of flat fold so that he will go with my snowman christmas tree. Just got to find the right backing fabric.

I am going to try to head off to work this afternoon. First day since I got sick last week. Should be interesting. DS is still down with the stomach bug so he will get to spend the day with grandma.

Half of the folks in this house

are down sick. I got sick Friday at work and had to come home. Am feeling a little better today. DS got sick with the same thing yesterday. Hopefully the rest of the clan don't get it.

I have been able to work on my SMO Frosty Snowman some during the last few days. Nothing left but the backstitching and attaching the buttons. Here is the updated pic.

Saturday was our first band comp of the season. We finsished third (out of 3). I was very proud of the band. The show is much stronger than last season and the scores were actually pretty tight in our division. We have two comps this Saturday. Hopefully everyone will be well and ready for that.

Football Season

is great stitching season. I got my Snowman done and started on the border last night while watching the football game. I should be able to tons of progress on my WIPs now that football is back on. Here is the updated pic of SMO Frosty Snowman.

Tomorrow we leave at noon for the kids first band competion. Since DH is driving I should be able to get some stitching done in the car. I think I will start something new so I will probably spend some time tonight trying to find something.

DH has decided he needs to watch the Republican Convention at night. I don't care a thing about listening to the speeches so I have been leaving the room and playing games on the computer. Tonight I think I will listen to some music with my headphones and stitch away. I should be able to finish the snowman on Frosty Snowman and get back to the border.

This weekend is the kids first band competion. I am already tired just thinking about the day. LOL! We are not chaperones for this trip as the competion is in Madisonville where we moved from. We are going up to visit with friends before the competion starts. Will let you know how we did on Monday.

Boy I had a busy week and weekend. Will was in Orlando all last week and I got some stitching in on my San-Man Original Frosty Card. Here is the updated pic of it.

I also got some sewing in. About half of these are done, the other half need to bottoms sewn together where I left the hole for stuffing. Here is a pic of all of them together.

I have been busy

finishing several of my cross stitch pieces into pillows and ornaments. Hopefully I can take some pics tonight and post them in the morning. I really want to use DDs camera to take the pics instead of my phone. Right now I have finished one pillow, one bellpull, and two ornaments. I have two ornaments and one pillow to go and then all my projects that need to be sewn will be done for a while. I have about three pieces left to frame. I hope to work those into the budget before years ends.

Busy week this week. Have to work two nights and then two days only off on Wed. DH is flying out tomorrow so my mom is coming to help get the kids to and from school and band practice. Friday, we go and get Ezra once DH lands in Paducah. Saturday we are taking Ezra to see Elmo's Green Thumb and then Monday the kiddos march in the parade. The next three months is non stop band competions, after school rehersals, and choir also for Will. I may be nuts before Christmas. LOL!

Beautiful Wednesday Morning

Good Morning. Today is going to be another beautiful day. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We had a great weekend visiting friends in M'ville on Saturday. We were not home much on Sunday and then I am guilty of watching waaaaaaaaay to much of the olympics. I am staying up way to late and then sleeping in until nearly work time the next morning.

I have been able to get some stitching in during the olympics though. Here is a couple of udpated pics of MBT The Name of God. The first pic is an overall view of what I have done on the sampler.

Next is a pic of what I have done during the games.

I have also started a new book. Chocolate Frog Frame Up by Joanna Carl. Shaping up to be another great read.

Well I am off to read, stitch on my snowman oranament from San-Man Originals and do some laundry. Everyone have a blessed day.

A couple of finishes

Yesterday was wonderful. The house was so quite from 7-5 (DH worked over and the kiddos had marching band until 5) It was scary it was so quite. I did some laundry, laid around, read, fixed dinner, baked some brownies, and pulled out the sewing machine.

Now you have to understand, my sewing machine and I have a love/hate relationship. I love it. It hates me. I had to call my mom on the phone and have her walk me through the settings because they had gotten screwed up and I haven't found the book since the move. Once I got the darn thing where I needed it to be I got to sewing.

I finally finished my Butterflies by Black Swan into a wall hanging. The stitching has been done for over a year and I have had the material at least that long. Anyway here is a pic of the finished piece. (Now be nice)

I also put my beach chair into its frame yesterday.

Finally before going to bed last night I did get a little stitching in on MBT sampler. Here is a pic of the stitching I did on it last night. Hope to get a lot done tonight while watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.

YEAHHHH School started today

I know, I know. I'm terrible. But it is so quite now at the house. No fussing or whining about nothing to do. Dropped Will off at the middle school and Aimee at the high school came home got a cup of coffee and just sat and listened to the quite. LOL!

Still have no stitching done. I have doing some reading. I had several books on hold at the library and they are finally coming in. Last week I finished reading "Twenty Wishes" by Debbie Macomber. It was another good read by her. I love her Blossom Street books. You should check it out and read it.

Monday, I finished reading "Fearless Fourteen" by Janet Evanovich. What can I say. I laughed until I cried. I just love the Plum family. A must read!

Now I am reading "Zapped" by Carol Higgins Clark. Her newest Regan Rielly mystery. Just got it last night but looks to be a quick and fun read.

I almost forgot I also picked up some books from the used book sale at the library. I read James Patterson "Step On A Crack". Looks to be another good series from him. It held me to the end. I knew it was an inside job but never did figure it out.

Also read "Sisterchicks Go Brit!" by Robin Jones Gunn. I love these books. I read this one in one setting. Can't wait for the next.

No Stitching

I haven't been stitching lately. Hopefully I will get back to it sometime this week. I have to take Will for registration today. He will be in 8th grade. School starts back on Wednesday. Maybe we can all get into a routine again.

Rainy Thursday

As usual when I have a day off it either rains or is so hot you can't leave the air conditioner. Today I have to take my mom to the eye doctor. Any time she goes by herself they dialate her eyes. So I just make it a practice to go with her. Tonight Aimee registers for her freshmen year in HS. It is killing me to think that she is this old. Tomorrow night she is going with her boyfriend (how did this happen) to see the batman movie. Not sure what thrills her the most, going out with her boyfriend or seeing the movie. :-)

As promised here are some updated pics of my WIPs. First up is SMO Frosty Snowman.

Next is MBT The Name of God.

I have to work tomorrow and Sat. so I should be able to get some more done on Frosty Snowman during lunch. Hopefully I can get some in on The Name of God tonight after freshmen registration.

Little stitching

I have been able to get a little stitching in over the past couple of days. I have had a terrible headache that wouldn't go away. Made several mistakes on MBT The Name of God before I decided I shouldn't stitch any more. Hope fully in the morning I can post some update pics of my two WIPs.

We have had some rain through the area and more to come. Gotta go batten down the hatches.

Finally a chance for an update

I have finally been able to take some new pics of one finish and a couple of WIPs. Didn't have much time for anything last week with the summer festival. It was so hot down town. We had a storm move through on Thursday and Friday evening. Thursday night was so bad it ripped the tent and flipped it over. Friday was terrible lightening and they shut the festival down. Just glad that is over for another year.

Here are the updated pics. First is MBT The Name of God. I am so loving stitching on this one.

Next is SMO Frosty Snowman Card. This one will be a quick stitch if I can get some time to work on it.

Finally is my finish of a beach chair. This is one of those 1.00 kits from Michaels.

Summer Festival

Our summer festival starts today and the shop will have a booth there all weekend which of course I have to work. Won't be much time for blog updates until Sunday. I have been stitching at night on MBT The Name of God so I should have a good update pic on Sunday.

Rainy Tuesday Morning

Good Morning all. With band camp still going on, I am getting back into a routine of dropping the kids off and then having some computer time before work. In other words, I am up by 6:30 instead of 9:00. :-) I do enjoy the quite time before work once every one is gone for the day but at the same time, I miss having the kiddos around all the time. Just two weeks and school starts back. Where did the summer go?

I had to work 12-6 yesterday so during the slow times I worked a little on my new take along project. It is Frosty Snowman by San-Man Originals. This little guy once done will also be an ornament for my snowman tree. The first pic is what the design will look like finished.

Here is what I stitched yesterday. Remember I just started it.

Again sorry for the terrible pics. Aimee has camera with her and this came off the blackberry.

The Paducah Summer festival starts tomorrow and I get to work downtown in the heat Wed-Sat. Yipee!!!!!!!! NOT I set up tomorrow at 9 then go back to the store for a couple of hours, then off to the festival to work until five or so. Then Thursday I open the store at 10 and work until 2, then work the festival from 3 to 9:30. Friday I work at the store 10-12 and then 12-4 at the festival. And finally on Sat. I work 10-10 at the festival. I'll be glad when this week is over.

Finally got some pics to upload

Aimee took her camera with her to band camp today so all these pics were taken with my blackberry. Not the best pics but still some pics.

First is an ornament finish. This one is by Mary Engelbrite. I got it last year at Michaels for a buck. There was suppose to be a ton of french knots for snow in the background. I decided it didn't need it. So here it is. Happy Face Snowman

Next is a SanMan Original from the secret shop. I actually stitched this one twice. The first one is on 28 count over two and will be made into an ornament.

The next one I stitched over one on 28 count to fit into this cute ornament frame.

Next is a Dimensions kit. I have done several of these and hope to buy a large silver frame put black foam core board in it and use jeweled push pins and frame all of these together in one. Here is Flip Flops.

As you know, I love snowmen. I found this little kit at a flea market and stitched it up in one day. It is a keychain.

Here is a pic of the flip flops I did for my niece about a month ago.

Finally here is an updated WIP of The Name of God by MBT. I have started on page two and am really enjoying stitching on this.

What a Sunday

We survived the night. Just barely. About 1:30 this morning, Will came in the room where we were sleeping and woke us up. When asked what he was doing he said, getting out of here. Sounds like he was up to no good. Which was exactly what he was. He was getting the bag full of candy so they could pig out on it. Needless to say they were told to GO TO BED NOW!!!!!!!!

Spent all afternoon in the ER with Aimee. She was playing football with the boys yesterday and hurt her finger. The whole thing was black. We were sure if it was jammed or broken. Thankfully just jammed. But every person (doc included) that looked at it said Yuck, it is not suppose to look like that. She is in a splint for the next 3 days. So much fun since she has band camp and she plays the trumpet.

Hopefully, I will get some pics uploaded in the morning. Kiddos have band camp at 8 and I don't have to be at work until noon.

Start a new week tomorrow

Let's see if I can get myself back on track beginning tomorrow with posting on this blog. We had a party today for my son. He turned 13 a couple of weeks ago. I still have three boys here tonight. Pray for me. :-) I have completed several books and stitching since my last post. I will try to get those pics up tomorrow too. Gonna try to shut the boys down and get some sleep. Church is early in the morning.

Got some stitching in

I did get some stitching last night and today. I will get some pics tomorrow and get them posted here soon. I put together a finished Dimensions kit of flip flops and have been stitching on a beach chair kit.

The storms have been rumbling through most of the afternoon and evening. The kids are getting hit in Wilmore KY also. They are sitting in a van waiting for the weather to pass. All the tents etc. is soaked. What a nasty day it has been.

No stitching again today

I finished up some flipflops for my niece. (She's 30) Cut the bandanas and tied them around the tops. Did two pair for her. I will try to get a pic with my phone before I give them to her and post them here. I might be able to get some stitching in before bed but I don't know.

The kiddos are at Icthus this week. They seem to be enjoying it despite the heat. Off to check on a few things before bed.

Boy it has been awhile

I have been so busy with work and end of school activites that I haven't even stitched much since the DSII finish. My kiddos leave for Icthus tomorrow so maybe I will be able to remedy the stitching situation some this weekend. I will try to post any stitching I do get to do.

My dd graduated from 8th grade this year. Here is a pic of her and her brother after the graduation.

Finally, it is finished.

My goal was to finish DSII by the weekend. When I saw that wasn't going to happen, I thought well I will finish it on Monday. Thinking I could get a finish for the month of March. Nope. Finally finished the last bit of backstitching up at 10 last night. I am so happy. Here it is in all of its glory. (Please excuse the wrinkles.) Now to just get it pressed and framed.

DD b-day is Friday. She will be 14. ACK!!!! She is having about 8 girls spend the night and we are going glow golfing. All I can say is come on Saturday. :-)

Wonderful Wednesday Morning.

I finished up my book by John Grisham last night. I enjoyed everything but the ending. LOL! Can't wait for his next one. I have all his books in hardback and have been known to go back and re-read them if I have nothing else in the house to read. For today though I will start reading a Meg Cabot book: . Shouldn't take to long to read.

I got some more stitching in last night on my DSII. I finished up the last large catus and did some of the ground around it and the sky. Here is the updated pic.
At this rate I might just make the weekend deadline.

Guess I better get myself ready for work. Today should be a busy day with new products arriving to check in, price and place around the store. Plus it is suppose to be warm and pretty so we will probably have a lot of traffic through today. Then we have Church this evening. Hope to still get some stitching time in. Two days in a row

I have been able to stitch the last two days in a row. Yipee. I got some stitching in last night on DSII. Here is where I am at now. Don't have a lot left to stitch, so hopefully I will make my goal to finish this weekend. I have no plans for the night so I will stitch it away. Hopefully tomorrows update will show a lot more x's crossed.

Finally

Well yesterday was the first day I put any stitching in on any of my projects in over a week. I just could not get myself to pick up a needle last week. I would look at my stitching and then grab a book instead. I did get about three or four books read in that time and am currently half way through with the new John Grisham .

I picked up and started again on MBT The Name of God. I have only been working on this on Sundays. I hope to maybe add a day or two more this week into stitching on this one. I really like it and I don't get a lot of stitching time in on Sundays. Between Church that morning and again that evening, dinner, and maybe a nap I get about one maybe two hours of stitching in. Here is an update of what I did get done yesterday. And here is a close up of the border with the slight color variations.

I have set a goal to finish DSII by this weekend. Which means I will skip my Tuesday night afghan stitch so I can finish this puppy up. That way I can devote the week to The Name of God and find a new stitching project for Sunday (maybe something small).

Good Morning

Well, I have not picked up a needle since last Thursday. We had the baby visit over the weekend and I always devote all my time to him. (I use to babysit him before we moved) Of course I did try to stitch but he wanted to help so we put that up and just played. Monday evening we went shoe shopping for my son some dress shoes for Church. Then we ate pizza and by the time we got home I was ready for bed. Yesterday I came home from work a little early and went right to sleep on the couch for over an hour. I was so tired and just felt yucky. I feel much better this morning so maybe tonight before and after Church I can get in a few stitches.

Well it is raining again and I need to finish breakfast and get the kiddos out the door for school. Have a blessed day.

Tomorrow is the weekend!!!!

We had another beautiful day today. I was off from work and got to spend it cleaning and doing laundry. I did have ever blind in the house opened and even the doors. They are calling for rain and thunderstorms to roll through tonight but not any thing major. Hopefully it will all be out by the weekend.

I did get a little bit of stitching in tonight on my DSII. Not enough to update the pics though. We are going to have a visitor with us for the next couple of nights so I don't think I will get any stitching in. We don't get to see him but every other month so we devote all our time and attention to him when he is here. I baby sit the little guy before we moved so he thinks he is part of our family and we couldn't agree more.

I will try to check in and post sometime over the weekend. Have a blessed one.

Another day, another dollar

My dad use to say that a lot when I was young. Now I get it at 36. Tomorrow will be my first day off (except for Sat.) in about a month. When I hired in I was only to work 2 days a week and avg. about 12-15 hours a week. Now I work 4 days a week and avg. 25 hours a week. Plus I am on call six days a week. Right now I don't mind but come summer something may have to be done. I want to be able to spend some time with the kiddos.

I got a little stitching in on DSII tonight after Church. It is comely along nicely. Might even be able to finish it before the month is out. Here is the latest pic.

Well I did get up earlier this morning and was able to get breakfast on the table but no excerise in. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Beautiful day

Well I didn't get up early enough this morning for excerise. I will try again in the morning. This time change is just killing me. I did have a little more time to take getting ready this morning by not blogging or reading. I am going to sit the clock for 15 minutes earlier for tomorrow. Maybe I will be able to get up and have a little more time for some excerise. We are having beautiful weather and it is suppose to continue tomorrow. Maybe I can get some walking in also.

I did get in a couple of hours of stitching tonight on SC Snowbuddies afghan. I am working on the bottom border now. Started on the tree branch tonight. Here is the update of that. Not a lot done but a little. I love working on this. Can't wait until I can start on the actual snowmen in the middle.

Back to work

Boy this DST has me all confused. I think I still need to be in the bed. I hate getting up in the dark. It will take me over a week to get adjusted once again to the time change.

I got some stitching in yesterday on MBT The Name of God. I am on page 1 and only have 3 more roses on the left side of the border before I will start on the words in the center. Here is the updated pic.

I was able to finish the Patterson book on Saturday and have since started Sweet Revenge by Diane Mott Davidson.

I am going to try over the next couple of weeks to rearrange my schedule some. I would like to get up a little earlier to get my excercise in. If I do this along with all the other morning stuff I will probably not have time to blog until the end of the day. So watch for that change over the next couple of weeks.

WOW it sure is bright out there

We got a total of 2 1/2" of snow. We were suppose to get a foot mind you but we didn't. It was very pretty while it was snowing. It was a blizzard like with the winds. So pretty to watch as I was sitting in my den in front of the fire cross stitching and didn't have to be out in it. This morning the sun is shining and reflecting off the snow. Have no where to go so I will just be stitching and reading the day away.

As promised here are some updated pic of my WIPs. First is DSII. I got the yellow of the sky finished last night. I only have the desert floor and a few castus to fill in.
Next is ME Happy Face Snowman. This is the take along project for Dr visits etc.

Last night I started the lastest James Patterson Women's Murder Club novel 7th Heaven. Pretty good read so far.

It's snowing again

I don't think that winter is ever going to leave Western KY. I believe it will still be here come July. They are calling for up to a foot of snow tonight. Guess we will see come morning. I have plenty to stitch and read and lots of movies to watch so I am ok with being snowed in. :-)

I haven't been around much this week. Work has been wild and then my mom had to have some test run yesterday. Plus yesterday was my birthday. I got some stitching in on my ME Snowman Happy Face and on my DSII over they last few days. I will try to get those pics posted tomorrow.

Happy Hump Day

I am so glad it is Wednesday. Only two days of work left this week. I work for 2 hours on Friday to cover until someone else can get there.

We had to go register DD for HS classes last night. I can't believe she is old enough to be getting ready for HS. She just started Kindergarten last week.

I did get some stitching in on my Snowbuddies Afghan. I got the bottom left heart finished. Here is a pic of the heart. Maybe by the end of April I can start on the actual design in the middle of the afghan.

Gotta work today, then spend the night with my mom. She has a blood test at 6:15 in the morning and I thought it would be easier to stay with her than to get up at 4:30 and get ready for work before picking her up.

No More Snow Please

The weather men are calling for snow for this afternoon. I hope they are wrong. I am so sick of winter. We had that taste of Spring over the weekend and now I am so over cold temps and snow. The temps are suppose to be in the 30s today so if it does snow it will probably stick and make things a mess again.

Didn't get much stitching in last night on my DSII. DD is registering tonight for her high school classes and we spent the night going over classes and schedules. By the time we all finished that we were ready for bed. LOL! I just can't believe that she is old enough to be starting high school. Where did the time go? She was just a baby last week. She did find out at school yesterday that is qualified for all honors classes so she was very excited about that.

Well I have work all day again today. I am training another part-time employee so I should be able to take some time off here pretty soon. Gotta get the kiddos to school. Have a blessed day.

It's Monday again

Just where does the weekend go? One minute it is Friday afternoon, the next Monday morning. Maybe we should have a two day work week and a five day weekend. Some how I don't think that that would work.

I did get some stitching in last night on MBT The Name of God. Not a lot because it was late before I got started on it. I had one of my headaches yesterday and I spent most of the afternoon on the couch with my head covered to keep out the light and the noise. We have a cold front moving through today and the pressure in my head was killing me. I will be glad the front in through. Any way here is a pic of what I got done last night. Just got a few more flowers done on the left border. I have now used one of 61 skiens of floss I got for this project.

As promised yesterday here is an updated pic of my DSII. I have completely finished the left side of the design except for the backstitching. I hope to be finishing this one up soon.

I also started a new book over the weekend. I should have this book done by this weekend. I am slowly making a dent in the books on the left side of my blog.

Beautiful Sunday

The weather is wonderful here this weekend. After so much wind, rain, snow, ice and freezeing temps we are seeing highs in the 70s with bright sunshine. Of course tomorrow we have another cold front moving through with storms changing over to snow/ice before it is over. But we will focus on today.

I haven't gotten much stitching in this week. First we had a lady quit at work and I have picked up her hours until we can get someone else hired. I am one whipped puppy when I get home at night. Then Thursday I spent the entire day in the ER with my mom. Yesterday was my first day off in a week and I spent the morning grocery shopping and the afternoon napping. I did get some stitching in on DSII late last night. I will try to post a pic of that tomorrow along with MBT The Name of God that I should get some stitching in on today.

Wild Wednesday

The weather around here is so crazy. One minute the sun is out, the next it is snowing, the next iceing, the next storming. I will be so glad for Spring. I want SUNSHINE, SUNSHINE, SUNSHINE!!!!

YEAH. I am so happy. Not only was I able to stitch on my ME Happyface snowman while I was sitting in the Drs office waiting for my mom but I was able to get in quite a bit of stitching in last night on my DSII. Here are updated pics of both.

Can't tell on the snowman but I was able to start on the white which is what goes between the red blocks.

What happened to Sunday?

Oops. I forgot to post on here yesterday. I was determined to stitch and not take a nap and I guess the afternoon just got away from me.

Saturday was uneventful. We finished up the famine at 6 by eating pasta. My son was asked to tell the congreation yesterday what he learned by doing this. (he is 12) He told several things but he also said that now he knows what it is like for children to starve and he is thankful he doesn't have to. We were very proud of him. DD finally made it back to school today. She still has a sore throat but no fever.

I did get some stitching in yesterday on my The Name of God sampler by My Big Toe Designs. I am loving working on this. You probably can't tell a lot of difference but I finished the top row of flowers in the border on page one. Here is the pic.

Well we have made it 24 hours without food so far. We have not really been hungry yet. We have a big Italian dinner planned for tonight. Something tells me we will be hungry fixing that dinner. LOL!

I got a lot of stitching in yesterday with Aimee being home sick. I am now back up to where I was when I had to rip all the desert floor. Should be able to get some stitching in again this afternoon and evening. Here is an updated pic. Again I will say I am sorry if the pic is huge. I don't know what is going on.

30 hour Famine

Well today at noon begins our 30 hour famine. The kiddos are doing this with their Church youth group so DH & I decided to participate also. Should be interesting.

Aimee is home sick again today. I will be calling the Dr here in a few to see if he can send her something to knock this out. She got up this morning with a temp of 102.

I got all the stitches ripped out of my DSII yesterday and restarted the ground in the correct color. Here is a pic of what I have redone on it.

Ice, ice baby

It is everywhere yet again. We got hit starting about 7:00 am this morning. The roads are solid. They are calling for at least a 1/2" of solid ice before this storm is over. Hopefully by the weekend we will have higher temps and melt it all. The kids are of course out of school which works out well for Aimee. She has been complaining of a sore throat for a couple of days. This morning she woke up with a high fever, so she would have stayed home any way. I had to call in to work so I could stay home with her. If the temp is not gone tomorrow then we will go to the Dr and see if she needs meds. Can you say fun fun.

I sit down yesterday to work on my DSII when I discovered that I had been stitching the ground in the WRONG colors. I was half way done. So I spent most of yesterday ripping out what I had done. Should be able to finish that today and get restarted on it in the right colors. Should pay closer attention to the patterns and less to the movies.

So did everyone see the Lunar eclispe last night? We got to see it. We were suprised because we had been cloudy all day and knew the ice storm was a coming. But God let us have clear skies long enough to watch one of his wonderous designs yet again. It was beautiful. It was to cold to stay out and watch the whole thing so we would run out see what stage it was in and then run back in. No pics for that reason also.

Guess I will go sit on the couch in front of the fire and spend the day rip, rip, ripping out the rest of the desert floor. Have a blessed day.

Bracing for yet another ice storm

Got the word in last night. Beginning at midnight tonight our area is suppose to be hit with another ice storm. We are still recovering from last weeks. Some people just got their power back on. No snow for the area just ice. I love how beautiful everything looks with the ice but I hate to drive on it and then all the lines and limbs coming down.

Got to do a little bit of stitching on my afghan last night. Had a busy day at work and was sort of tired when I got home. Only got about two hours of stitching in. Here is what I got done last night. Sorry the pic is so big. I have re-sized it in Photobucket but it is still showing huge on the blog. Wishful thinking on my part last week that I would get the heart done this Tuesday. Once I do get the heart done I will take a pick of the whole afghan so you can see what I have done on it.

Today I am off work so I hope to finish my last library book... "Death in the Frenh Quater" by Kent Conwell. As soon as I finish that it is off to work on DSII. Can't wait to finish this one up and get it framed and hung in the den.

We got some great news at our house on Friday. DD & DS both got first chair for their instrument in band. DD plays the trumpet in 8th grade and DS plays the trombone in 7th grade. They were both very excited.

Crazy LONG weekend

Hello all. I had to work both Friday and Saturday. We went to a home show Friday night and didn't get in until late so no stitching. Saturday I was so tired when I got home I went to sleep on the couch watching movies. Sunday between Church services all I did was sleep. Yesterday we spent the day in Madisonville and Evansville visiting with friends and shopping. Didn't get home until after ten last night. I haven't stitched in so long I may have forgotten how. :-)

Hope to get some stitching in on my Snowbuddies Afghan tonight after work. I am trying to get caught up around the house and with the laundry this morning before going in. Hopefully I will have a new updated pic to post tomorrow of the afghan.

Stash report: I got some charts yesterday and the GA threads I need to begin my Halloween Game Board. Just need to get upstairs to the loft and pull the fabric for it. Hope to add it into my rotation this weekend. Well I am off to fold clothes and get ready for work.

No stitching for me last night. When I got home from work, I had to take my children into town to do some shopping. By the time we got home, I decided to curl up and read instead of getting out my stitching. I was able to finish my book so I will be starting a new one today. Not sure which one yet, I will let you all know tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay in posting today. At six this morning, a car decided to staighten out the S curves on our road and took out a utility poll along with the lights. The driver was NOT injuried but we where without power for four hours while they re-set the poll and run new power lines.

We are beginning to come out of the big chill today. Love will warm us up today. :-) We should be in the 50s today with finally the melting of the ice. Of course we are on schedule for more ice tomorrow and Sunday.

Got some work in on my DSII yesterday. I love working on this piece. So many blended threads and color changes that it makes the picture come to life as you are stitching it. Can't wait to finish it and hang it on the den wall.

Well my mom finally got power back last night so I will be taking her home today before I go to work. Everyone have a blessed Valentine's Day.

Baby it's cold out there

Woke up to more snow and ice this morning. Schools have been out since Monday at 12:00. My mom is here as she has been without power for over 24 hours. Things are just down right nasty out there. We are being urged to stay in unless it is an emergency. Don't have to tell me twice. I will gladly sit in front of my fire and stitch the day away. Please pray for all those that are without power with no where to go. Also for the crews as they are out in this mess trying to fix the lines. We are expecting a warmup tomorrow finally.

I managed a little stitching last night on my afghan. I have started the left heart on the bottom border. Maybe next week I can get the heart finished.

Gonna go snuggle up on the couch and stitch the day away. Have a blessed day.

Holy Cow what a night!

We had an ice storm come through during the day yesterday. It then turned over to thunder storms during the night. We woke up to a mess this morning. My mother is without power, we have a tree down in our back yard across the neighbors drive. Here is a slideshow of some of the trees and the downed tree. Aimee is 5'7" and the roots are almost as tall as her!

I did manage to get in some stitching last night on my DSII. I am really enjoying this one. I am now doing the desert floor on the left side of the pic.

Well we are getting ready to move the tree, then go get my mother so she won't freeze. I am suppose to work this evening but I am thinking of calling in so I can take care of everything around here.

Freezing Monday

Well we woke up to temps in the teens again this morning. I will be so glad when Spring arrives. They say we may have freezeing rain and or ice by late afternoon/early evening today. Give me a foot of snow any day over ice. To make things even better, I was just called into work again today. Now my laundry will over take the house. Guess I will be up all night doing laundry for tomorrow. Oh well, such is the life of a working mom. LOL!!!!

Did get to stitch all afternoon and some after Church again last night. I guess I should tell you that we don't have cable at our house so we spend a lot of time watching movies. Yesterday I decided to put in an oldie but goodie. "Gone With the Wind" the whole family set around and watched. Here is what I was able to get done on MBT The Name of God while watching the movie.

We had a very windy but beautiful day yesterday. Today is shaping up to be the same. We have already been to Church this morning and Will is now working on dinner. I will be going to the den here in a few to stitch on MBT The Name of God.

Did get a lot of stitching in last night while watching movies again. Watched A Midsummer Night's Dream and Romeo & Juliet. Here is the updated pic of DSII after four hours of stitching last night.

Sunny Saturday

The sun is shinning today. What a beautiful sight to see. Of course it is freezeing outside but the sun is shinning. I have to go to work today at 11 but I get off at 3 so I still have a lot of stitching time for this evening.

Last night we watched four hours of movies so I got a great deal done on my DSII. We watched Mansfield Park and The Thomas Crown Affair. The first was a new movie for us and was pretty good. Not as good as Sense and Senseablity but ok. The second one is an old favorite of mine. Anyway here is an updated pic of what I was able to work on during the movies.

I was able to finally get started on the mountains on the left side.

Also yesterday I had to take my mother to the eye doctor. She had to have her eyes dialated. I took my ME Happy Face Snowman with me to work on. I was able to add a few more of the red squares around the border.

I have the day off. I will be going with my mom to the eye doctor incase they decide to dialate her eyes again. Other than that I plan to do NOTHING. I do have to work tomorrow from 11-3 but that is ok.

I got some more stitching in on DSII last night. I am so close to being done with the sky and moving on to the landscape. I am really enjoying stitching on this one.

If you know my children, you also know that my son refuses to have his picture taken. If he is forced to have them done he never smiles in them. His school picture looks like a mug shot.. So this morning while I was snapping a pic of my WIP I snapped a pic of him. . Now he won't talk to me for a week. LOL!!!!
While I am at it I will post a pic of both Aimee & Will. This was taken in Dec. right before their band concert..

Oh yeah, I finished The Rose Rent yesterday and started a new book. It is Dying for Chocolate by Diane Mott Davidson. I have read all of her books but this one, so I went back and picked it up. I am sure it will be interesting to see some of what first happened to her characters in the books.

I got some more stitched on my DSII yesterday. Not as much as I could have. My mom came and spent the day with me. I didn't start stitching until an hour before Church, then about an hour after Church. Did get the left side of the sky finished. Tonight after work hopefully I will finish the right side then be able to begin on the landscape itself. Here is the updated pic.

What a night!

I didn't get any stitching in last night due to the weather around here. We were to busy running for cover one minute and then trying to get everyone settled back down for bed the next. Several tornados touched down all around us. My DD was on the phone with her BFF when the phone lines in TN was lost. Now she is worried sick about her. I told her she could try to reach her BFF this afternoon again right after school. They live in one of the hardest hit areas.

I am off work today and we will eat dinner at Church tonight. My mom is coming for a visit and other than that I plan to do nothing all day. Hopefully, I will get a few stitches in on DSII tonight before bed.

Super Tuesday/Fat Tuesday/Stormy Tuesday

Take your pick as what you want to call today. Our state doesn't vote until May so no "Super Tuesday" for us. We don't do Mardi Gras so no "Fat Tuesday" for us. But there are severe storms moving through the area again so it is "Stormy Tuesday" in our household. Whatever your day is I hope it is a great one.

I got called into work last night so my stitching time was cut way down. I only got in an hour before going to bed. I worked on DSII some more. I swear that sky is over half the design. I love the colors but am so ready for something besides red and orange. Here is an updated pic.

Tonight after work I will be stitching on the Snowbuddies Afghan. Hopefully I will pretty far on the first heart on the bottom border. Watch tomorrow for update.

It's Monday again

Boy after having four days off, my kids did not want to get up and go to school today. Of course they were exhausted after being up so late last night watching the Giants win the Super Bowl. They were still going strong at 10 when I picked them up from Church. My daughter says she is coming home this afternoon and taking a nap. LOL!!!

I got a little bit of stitching in yesterday on MBT The Name of God. After dropping our son off at Church yesterday for the Super Bowl party, I came home and napped for several hours. So I didn't have as much time to stitch as I would have liked. Here is the updated pic.

Super Bowl Sunday

Today is the big day. What team are you rooting for? My kiddos favorite team is the Colts, so they are rooting for the Giants. Since Peyton got the win last year it is only fair for Eli to get it this year. They are heading to a big Super Bowl party with their youth group. Can you say peace and quite around my house. :0 Maybe I will get a lot of time in on The Name of God.

I did get some stitching in last night on my DSII. I can't post a pic today because my DD took off with the camera to above mentioned party. I will try to get a pic posted tomorrow. I am almost finished filling in the sky now.

A day off finally.

Today is my first day off since going back to work. I was so happy when they told me I didn't have to work today. I get to spend the whole day with my family and my stitching.

Before work yesterday afternoon I finished reading If on a winter nights a traveler. It was a good book. Not something I would normally read but pretty good none the less. I started on "The Rose Rent" by Ellis Peters. This book is about a monk in the 1100s trying to figure out who killed the person delivering a white rose for rent. Here is the pic of the front.

After work last night I stitched on DSII some more. I got most of the left side of the sky finished and have started filling in on the right. Here is the updated pic.

Friday again

Well, we had another snow "storm" over night. The kiddos are out of school again today. Not that that bothers them. We are suppose to warm up into the 50s again by Sunday.

I have to work again today and tomorrow. I am only suppose to get 12-15 hours a week and this week I will have worked all six days that the shop is open. I have already worked 18 1/2 hours this week and I will have another five today plus a possible 7 1/2 tomorrow.

I got a little stitching in last night after work and grocery shopping on my DSII. I am so loving the red sky. I can't wait to finish this piece. Here is today's update.

Snow Day

We woke up this morning to snow. We were not suppose to get any snow so the road crews had not pretreated the roads or anything. So the kiddos are at home today and still sleeping. Now if I just didn't have to work 2-6 this evening it would be a great day. LOL!!! I really do like my job. It's just that where I live in KY no one will be out on the roads this afternoon early evening because we are suppose to get some more snow, freezeing rain and sleet. So I will have four hours of nothing.

I did get a little bit of stitching in last night on my DSII. As small as this project is I thought I would be much further along on it. I love the way the colors are coming out though. Here is the latest pic.

Also I had a comment from a friend asking what kind of stitching stand I had won on ebay. Here is a pic of the stand as promised.

No comments please on the plaid carpet. :-) It will be replaced ASAP.

Stormy Tuesday

Boy yesterday was a fun day. About 4:30 CDT we had a storm roll through. No tornados in our immediate area but the winds were 75-80 miles an hour. It was not fun being at work and the walls and roof a pop, pop, popping away. By the time I left work at 6:00 things had clamed down but we had winds over 50 miles an hour until after midnight. We have several limbs down in our yard and our neighbors had a tree across their driveway.

I did get to stitch on my afghan some last night. I got the heart finished on the top. Next Tuesday I will begin the bottom border. Here is a pic as of last night.

What a day.

Boy was I ever a tired puppy when I got home last night. I know I am only part time but I am not use to standing for 5 1/2 hours at a time. I came home chatted with my family, changed into sweats and sit down in my stitching chair and never moved until bed time. DH cooked dinner, DD & DS cleaned the kitchen table and the dining room table. (Of course things will be back to normal by next week LOL!) All in all, I think I will like my new job. Yesterday I helped open the store, tonight I will help close her down.

I did get a little bit of stitching done last night on DSII. I started the blending of the orange and red threads in the sky.

Today/tonight is the day I spend on my Snow Buddies afghan so watch for an update on that one tomorrow.

I have WW this morning so I have to get ready to go weigh in. I hope this new job will help me shed a few more pounds then I have been doing.

Hi Ho Hi Ho It's off to work I go

Today is the first day at my new job. Gotta get myself back in the working mode. No more playing all day. For the first time in their lives, my children have to ride the bus home from school. Other than field trips they have never been on a bus. Should make for an interesting dinner conversation.

I really think I am going to like this one.

I once again have to many WIPs going on. I must commit myself to finishing at least three of them before starting something new. My first goal will be to finish my DHs name tree by mid-February. My second goal will be to finish DSII and the Needlepoint pillow by the end of Feb. At which point I will then add a Halloween Game Board and some Christmas and Halloween ornaments into my rotation. Let's see if I can stick to it.

New Start

Good evening. I am a little late posting today. Sunday's are very busy days around our house. We get up go to Church, come home eat dinner, take a nap (I wish) and then get back to Church by 4:30 for pre-church practices and then stay after for choir practice. So my Sunday posts will probably always be late.

We had a beautiful day today and a crystal clear evening so far. We could actually see the little and big dipper out tonight.

I worked on my DSII yesterday and got all the red finished in the upper part of the sky. Here is the updated pic.

Today I started MBT design Name of God. I had won a stand on ebay and it came yesterday. I put the fabbie on there and just couldn't resist starting it today. I didn't get a lot of stitches in but here is a pic of it.

I am stitching this on Cafe Latte Linen (32 ct) with Cresent Colors Daniel Boy Blue. I think I will work on this only on Sundays until I finish DSII then I will devote all my time to finishing this one.

Well, tomorrow is my first day on the job. I am a little nervous about this as this is my first job for about eight years. I ran my own business for five of those. Wish me luck.

Yipee!!!!

I got the job. I had interviewed for a job on Wednesday and they called yesterday and offered me the position. I will be working part-time only. No later than six in the evenings and NO Sundays! I start on Monday.

I was able to get in a little bit of stitching yesterday on my Desert Sunset II. My son called at 10:30 to come pick him up from school. He was running a high temp all day yesterday. Today he seems fine. Here is a pic of what I got done yesterday on DSII.

Off to do some cleaning up around the house then back to stitching.
